Mesquite is one of the most beautiful and hardest hardwoods found in the United States. Its rich coloring, wild grain patterns, and natural voids tell the story of the desert landscape it grew from. Each ring is a record of drought and rain, heat and resilience. It is uniquely and quintessentially American Southwest, and notoriously difficult to source in large quantities.
It all starts with the tree. We source our mesquite locally, hauling logs from ranches and properties across Tucson and Southern Arizona. Once you commission a piece by us, you are fully invited to be a part of the process. We welcome you to the shop in person, where you can walk through the slabs, and see which pieces you are drawn to.
We continue to collaborate with you closely as your build proceeds. We'll share photos and progress updates as often as you like, because we believe the best furniture is built in open conversation. Every decision - edge profile, finish, hardware, joinery - is made with the client’s preference in mind. If delivery is needed, we are happy to do that as well. Our site foreman, Woody, performs a final quality inspection on every item before it is handed to the customer.
Every custom creation comes with a lifetime craftsmanship warranty. If something fails in the making, we fix it. No questions asked.
Every dollar of profit goes directly to the Ride Like Darne Scholarship, offered here at the ranch for at-risk youth in Tucson. When you bring one of these pieces into your home, you're not just honoring the tree it came from, but you are investing in a young person's future. That's the second life we give this wood, and the community it helps build. Learn more under the Community Benefit tab.
